Thermaebeauty Review

It’s been a while guys! I have been so obsessed with video content creation that I’ve completely neglected my writing but I am back! Today, I want to talk about a brand that generously gifted me two of their products. Thermaebeauty is an Australian business and thrive on letting it be known that they are naturally blessed and handmade in the heart of Melbourne. They provide products such as hand soaps, body scrubs and bath soaps (all from the pamper category!). I was given the Black Mamba Coffee Scrub and the Spice Delight Bath Salts and here are my thoughts on them! Black Mamba Coffee Scrub Coffee scrub has blown up over the past few years, known for being an amazing skin brightener, radiates and keeps your skin glowing as well as de-puffs sleepy eyes! Thermaebeauty’s Black Mamba coffee scrub is made up of: Pure Arabica coffee Australian brown sugar Cocoa powder Jojoba oil Calendula extract Australian peppermint oil Mandarin oil Natural vitamin E Thermaebeauty claims that their Black Mamba coffee scrub exfoliates the skin without leaving it dry or irritated and that’s one thing that was definitely impressive. As all coffee scrubs are messy, so is this one, you just can’t avoid it! The only thing I wish companies thought of is making the packaging in a way that taking the product out is less messy. Besides that, the scrub definitely made my skin feel amazingly smooth and buttery as soon as I stepped out of the shower and dried myself. I could have easily not put moisturiser on afterwards however I am highly OCD when it comes to that. For $18.50, I feel this scrub will definitely last a good month or two if used 1-2 times a week which is what I’ve been doing. I absolutely love the after-feeling of using this and I definitely recommend it! Spice Delight Bath Salts Thermaebeauty has three different bath salts; Bath Amongst the Gum Trees, Mrs Pelagronium and Spice Delight. I was sent the Spice Delight The formula for Spice Delight is made up of: Dead Sea Salt Cinnamon Oil Cardamom Oil Nutmeg Oil Black Pepper (cert. Organic) Cinnamon Chips (cert. Organic) Natural Vitamin E The scent for Spice Delight is extremely potent so if you dislike cinnamon, this one is definitely not for you. However, I don’t mind cinnamon – it was probably a bit too strong for me…

Summer Morning Skincare Routine

So I decided to show you guys my morning skincare routine! I love reading these kinds of posts so I thought I’d do my own. My skincare used to be extremely simple however I’d added a little bit more to it now that I’m in my (almost) mid twenties – sure, sure, I’m not old or anything but when it comes to skincare, prevention is key! So let’s dive right in. Step 1: Cleanser I simply cannot start my day without a shower in the morning – I simply won’t. For a girl who has oily/combination skin, I wake up with a feeling of greasiness to my skin – sure, it’s hydrated from my night time routine, however it’s definitely not a feeling I’ll start my day with. First step is cleanser. I’ve been using the Mecca Cosmetica Transforming Facial Cleanser to death – it has easily become my number cleanser for the second half of 2017 and now that I’m almost finished, I’m not so sure if I should repurchase or try another! (Suggestions please.) It’s probably the most hydrating cleanser I’ve ever used, is affordable and leaves the skin feeling clean and refreshed. It is undoubtedly the one thing that awakens my skin in the morning. SHOP HERE: http://bit.ly/2Dw78Ry Step 2: Serum I absolutely love any product that is light weight – that’s why I love using a serum on my skin. I was sent the Bergamo Coenzyme Q10 serum that my skin has been soaking up! One thing that I’ve definitely noticed in my skin is clarity and hydration. My skin is uneven in texture and sometimes tone (depending on the weather), however with the Bergamo Coenzyme Q10, I’ve seen a positive change! I especially love the lightweight feeling on my skin which is a major plus in my books. SHOP HERE: Bergamo Coenzyme Q10* Step 3: Dermalogica Smoothing Cream or Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel SPF15 Anything with SPF that is a gel is such a win for me! Like I said before, lightweight for me is key, especially in the warmer seasons. I usually switch between the Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream and Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel SPF 15 depending on my mood. I love both equally as they both provide a great smooth canvas for primer and foundation application. On days where I know I’ll be out in the sun, I’ll opt for the Neutrogena and…

Beauty Trend Predictions for 2018

Helloooo 2018! I cannot believe we are in a brand spankin’ new year already. I know, I know, EVERYONE is saying that but I had to! To bring in the new year, I’ve decided to post my predictions for beauty trends that will explode in 2018. I may wrong, I may be right – who bloody cares? They’re my predictions! So let’s get to it! Prediction #1 – K-Beauty & J-Beauty So we’ve had a slight obsession with the Korean and Japanese beauty scene, but it’ll only get bigger. Why? Because Korean and Japanese people (both men and women) have flawless and porcelain skin. Whatever they’re using on their skin, we want in. So hit us with all you’ve got! Let us soak in the sheet masks and green tea. Prediction #2 – ‘Clean’ Makeup This does not refer to natural and organic ingredients. ‘Clean’ makeup is a term used for products that are beneficial to our skin. Who’s heard of makeup that is good for our skin? Not a lot! (Leesa Barr’s does so check her out here!) Move over ‘organic’ and ‘natural’ because in 2017, when brands referred to these terms, it was a little ambiguous. So 2018 is the year where we keep it nice and clean. (See what I did there?) Prediction #3 – Non-invasive Beauty Procedures Let’s be real. We are a narcissistic society. We love to look and feel good about ourselves. But one of the most popular questions in the beauty industry when it comes to wrinkles, anti-aging, botox, fillers etc, is ‘is it invasive?’ Because let’s face it, no one want’s to go under the knife unless it’s a life or death situation. Non-invasive beauty procedures will be a major thing in 2018 so look out for those chemical peels and liposuction that don’t require knife work! What a world we live in. Prediction #4 – Inclusive Beauty We’ve seen what Rihanna’s Fenty Foundation has done to the beauty industry. So it’s not surprising to see this prediction for 2018. This year, it’ll be about providing products that cater to all skin colours and skin types. There will be a significant increase in inclusion of different skin toned models across beauty brands as well. No matter what your personal thoughts are on this controversial topic, it’s definitely one that needed to be brought up so I’m glad that there are brands starting to…

Fitness Journey

The new year is just around the corner, literally. So what better time than now to post my fitness journey? Should we start from the beginning? I hope I don’t bore you guys with this, but a lot of you were interested! Just to let you know, I lay it all out straight – I give you my measurements which is a huge deal to me however, I think it’ll benefit and hopefully inspire some of you 🙂 All through primary school, I was extremely athletic – I did every sport I could and athletics carnivals were my favourite time of year. I was competitive and a tomboy throughout primary school (shocking right?) I was also one of those girls that everybody hated because I could smash all the junk food in the world and still be stick thin. I had no  curves and at that age, I didn’t really care. Up until year 9-10, I swapped out sports for ‘study sessions’ with my friends. I no longer played sports outside of school and I still ate the same way I always did, except, this time, it started to catch up to me. I also started to grow in some curves – not too much, but enough. For years, I didn’t do any exercise, I was busy with uni, work and a social life. Then I met my now boyfriend and fast forward 5 years later, I am what I am now. Slightly heavier than I think I should be and a whole lot curvier. It wasn’t until about 2 years ago that this started to bother me. My asthma was acting up (it did not bother me for years), my cholesterol was slightly higher than it should be and I was doing nothing to help myself. I love food and it was one thing that I did not want to give up. So in August of 2017, my brother (a gym fanatic) was going away to Hawaii for 2 weeks – he suggested that I take his 2 a week sessions with his personal trainer, Daniel. Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5.30am – yes, AM. It was definitely something I didn’t want to do but had to. First session My first session with Daniel was both nerve-racking and tiring (I had to be up so early!) however I was excited to start a new journey. My first session was 5 minutes…

Beauty Brand Lowdown – Illasmasqua

It has been a while since I’ve done a beauty brand lowdown so here is one for good measure! RY.com.au recently sent me some Illamasqua goodies to celebrate it’s launch on RY! (Yes, you can now purchase Illamasqua on RY.com.au (the offer AfterPay and free shipping for orders over $99!) Check Illamasqua out here. If you didn’t know, Illamasqua was founded back in 2008 and is known for its unconventional and bold makeup products. They’re now a cult beauty brand that continues to grow globally. I was lucky enough to be gifted some products that I’ll be reviewing in today’s blog post! Ready? Illamasqua Beyond Powder – OMG There’s a reason they named this highlighter OMG – it is incredibly OMG. You guys know I love a good glow and you guys know I like to be a little bit extra when it comes to applying highlight. So you’ll also know to trust me when I say this is in my top 3 – that’s saying an awful lot. At first I thought the highlight would be too pale for me however when I applied it with a fan brush on my face, it was a game changer. The highlighter gives a gorgeous subtle glow if you apply 1 swatch however, for that glow getter highlight, be sure to apply as many layers as you wish. On an everyday basis, I do the 1, on nights out, I like to challenge myself and reach for 4 or 5 just for safe keeping, you know what I mean? Illamasqua Neutral Eyeshadow Palette Isn’t this just the best palette to take travelling? It can be used for brows (which I do), everyday makeup or glam. The shades are Stealth (top left), Vintage (top right), Wolf (bottom left) and Obsidian (bottom right). The Illamasqua Neutral Eyeshadow Palette is so my style in that the shades are universal and timeless. Universal because I feel the shades can be used on any skin tone and timeless because the shades are simple and usable. For an everyday makeup look, you can mix Stealth and Wolf to create a classic brown eye. For a glamorous look, you can smoke out Obsidian and add Vintage to the lid and inner corner for a pop of gold magic! I love this palette for its simplicity yet versatility. What have you tried from Illamasqua? Do you love these products as much as…

Leesa Barr Makeup

Not too long ago, I received a lovely package from Leesa Barr – now if you don’t know or never heard of her before, you really need to get with the times! Leesa has cleverly created her collection surrounding the idea that makeup doesn’t have to be bad for your skin. As an advocate of high quality and healing ingredients, Leesa has truly shaped her brand to shine among all the others and today, I’ll be reviewing her products that were generously sent to me. Leesa has also set up a code beautybyvee for 10% off your entire order! And before we jump into the review, I also created a look using Leesa’s products which you can check out here. Mesmereyes Long Wear Mascara The one thing that caught my attention about this mascara is the shape and the uniqueness of the brush. When I first used the Mesmereyes Mascara, I had just removed my eyelash extensions – well, they fell off more like it. My eyes were bare and I felt naked! I missed having long and thick lashes so badly so I thought I’d give this a whirl. This wonder brush mascara worked like magic! It coated my individual lashes so nicely with no clumps (which is the WORST when it happens right?). I was mesmerised (like what I did there?). No clumps, no smudges and lasted all day. Want to know something even better? This mascara is formulated with Vitamin A, C and E. Vitamin A – helps produce healthy sebum to coat and protect the lashes Vitamin C – strengthens lashes Vitamin E – helps repair and rebuild lashes Pretty amazing right? You can shop the Mesmereyes Long Wear Mascara here. Luxe Lip Brush First of all, props to Leesa for making this beautiful brush rose gold! It’s absolutely perfect in every single way. Secondly, I’m not usually someone who uses a lip liner to apply lipstick. However, Leesa added in her note for me that she highly recommends using the Luxe Lip Brush when applying the lipstick and boy was she right. Applying red lipstick is tricky for everyone, no matter how long you’ve been using makeup. The lip brush is the perfect tool when applying lipstick due to it’s shape and flexibility to reach the corners of the mouth without smudging it. It gives me clean and crisp lines which is exactly what I…

The Year That Was – 5 Things I Achieved in 2017

I cannot believe I’m actually writing this blog post right now! Is 2017 really coming to an end? Is there seriously only half a month left till we start 2018? The year has honestly flown by and I’m here to capture a glimpse of the year that was through my eyes. 2017 was a big year for me – it was an emotional roller-coaster but I’m glad to say that I enjoyed the ride.  I learnt a shit load of things, took on new challenges and put myself in uncomfortable situations to break my barrier. 1. I was made redundant After exactly 1 year of working as a customer service/marketing assistant for a health and beauty company, I was made redundant. 100% of people who heard the news said ‘at least you got paid out’ which is a win in my books. My situation in this case was considered lucky. I knew the news was coming so I immediately updated my resume, spoke to my manager to be my point of reference and pushed my CV out into the world of seek.com.au, pedestrian.tv and LinkedIn. I landed a 7 week contract as an EDM specialist which was to start the week after I was made redundant – lucky right? Everything happened extremely quick and I knew this contract (a temporary replacement for someone who would be going away) would look awesome on my resume. 7 weeks isn’t a long time, I absorbed absolutely everything I could from this company so I could be prepared when I moved onto my next job. As soon as I finished up my contract, I moved onto another at the beginning of September – I had about a week off before I started a new contract. The contract that I found (am currently in) is a 12 month maternity leave contract as a marketing assistant. Being made redundant is a blessing in disguise, it taught me to keep going no matter what. If the old me was made redundant, I would probably take a few weeks off and slowly look for something new however the new me is wiser. Looking for jobs is never easy and I’ll gladly admit that I was extremely lucky to find jobs almost instantly and the one I’m in now, is 20 minutes from home! Cheering! 2. I became more serious about blogging Blogging has always been a creative outlet…
