My Full Face Holy Grail Products

I feel like my mission in this crazy beauty world is to find holy grail products that will never let me down in emergency situations – like crying my eyes out but my mascara is still holding on strong (winning!). I wanted to reveal my full face holy grail products with you all – from the prepping of skincare, my makeup base, eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara, lips, contour, blush – you get the drift. These are all products that I have used for a really long time and the formula has not failed me and I hope they work for you just as well as they have for me! Please keep in mind that just because we have the same skin type (combination), doesn’t mean that the products will work the same – there are about a hundred other factors we need to consider as to why or why not a product will work for you.

Starting off with the most important step in makeup – skincare. The way you look after your skin is so important and can be the make or break of your makeup application. I’m usually very basic when it comes to skincare however, since learning that skincare has a lot to do with how my makeup looks, I’ve started to put in more effort. The following are my day time and night time skincare products that have changed the quality of my skin for the better.

Exfoliator: Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

This isn’t your typical exfoliate – it is a specially formulated rice-based enzyme powder. When in contact with water, it releases Papain, Salicylic Acid and Rice Enzymes which are key ingredients to help smooth the skin and accelerate cell renewal. I’ve been using this non stop for about 3 months now – it was life changing for me, especially during the course of winter – my skin freaks out during the cold season and goes all out of whack. Moisturisers: Neutrogena Hyro Boost Serum (Night time), Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel SPF 15 (Day time)

Neutrogena  launched their latest Hydro Boost collection which included 8 amazing products that were like nothing else they had formulated before. The quality and packaging was top notch and comparable to high end brands. I purchased some products that I felt would benefit my skin. The Hydro Boost Serum and Water Gel are moisturisers that I’ve been using every single day, day time and night time for the past couple months.

Honestly, these products have made my skin so smooth, so hydrated and not as oily as it used to be. The thing with combination/oily skin is, you need all the hydration you can get – through skincare and diet (so drink all the water you can!). The serum and water gel are extremely light weight, quickly absorbs into the skin and allows for an even foundation application. I can really feel the difference when using these products and will definitely continue to purchase them.

Makeup Remover/Toner: Bioderma Sebium H2O

The Bioderma Miceller water is probably my #1 holy grail product of all my holy grail products – it is the most incredible makeup remover and can double up as an everyday toner due to its gentle properties however effectiveness to completely cleanse your face of the harshest of makeup. Big bloody statement – I know. But if you haven’t tried it out at least once, I highly recommend it. That’s all I have to say about that!

Base Makeup

Primer: Philosophy Total Matteness

I feel this primer completely flies under the beauty radar and not many people know about it. I first purchased this from a Sephora store in Melbourne, about 3 years ago out of impulse and was so impressed. I didn’t know much about makeup back then but it did the job and well. Then I began getting into the whole world of beauty and was overwhelmed by all the primers on the market that the Total Matteness flew under my own radar! I decided to repurchase it and have fallen in love with it all over again! It minimises the appearance of pores, mattifies the skin and keeps makeup in tact all bloody day!

Foundation: Too Faced Born This Way

You’ll notice that I don’t have a concealer part and that’s because I very rarely use concealer – only when I’m glamming up for a wedding or big night out. Otherwise, I don’t really have a holy grail! As for foundation, if you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know that I love foundation and I’m up to try every single one. Out of the 200 foundations I own, the Too Faced Born This Way has never failed on me. Not once. You can read my blog post about it in detail here.

Face Makeup

Contour: Australis Contour Cream Palette, Mecca Max Bronzer

I only use contour cream when I’m going for a dramatic, glamorous look however pretty much stick to the powders everyday. I recently discovered the Mecca Max bronzer and it is comparable to Benefit’s Hoola – dare I say, better. The pigment is so beautiful and it blends out beautifully. No patchiness or mud-like effect.

As for the cream contour, I’ve stuck to the Australis palette for a while now and it has worked really well – again, it blends effortlessly and the colours match me great. I haven’t explored cream contours as much as I should so if you know any good ones, please comment them below!

Blush: Milani Baked Blush

I’ve had this blush for so long and continue to use it with love. From the packaging to marbled swirls, the quality is what stands out most. My favourite shade is Red Vino, a reddish-pink blush colour that is perfect for day and night looks. It definitely takes my #1 spot for blushes – and I have tried a fair few blushes in my life time. It’s a product that you can play around with, giving subtleness when you want it and drama when you need it.

Highlighter: Anastasia Beverly Hills x Nic Guerriero Glow Kit, ColourPop Highlight Super Shock

If you’re not a fan of out of this world glow, then skip to the next category now! For all my babes who love a bloody amazing glow then these two products are my ultimate go to for highlight. For a nice everyday subtle glow, I use the ABH x Nic Guerriero Glow Kit which includes 6 beautifully pigmented and shimmery shades that can be used on a scale of subtle to glow till you see me from outer space! And if you’re extra like I tend to be? Apply the ColourPop Highlight Super Shock (cream based) THEN layer the glow kit shade ON TOP. Cause that’s how we beauties do.

Setting Powder: Laura Mercier Loose Setting Powder

This is the setting powder for me! I’ve repurchased this product 3 times and absolutely love it. It has no flashback on my skin and really sets my makeup. I haven’t had any issues using this powder on top of any foundation so far and use it on the daily!

Eye Makeup

Eyebrows: Rimmel Brow Shake Filling Powder

For about 3 years, I used a matte brown eyeshadow and angled eyeliner brush to do my eyebrows, until I was sent the Rimmel Brow Shake Filling Powder. It changed my life! I’ve heard a fair few mixed reviews as people find the applicator hard to use however I really love it and find it long lasting, pigmented and so easy to use! You can read my full review here.

Eyeshadow Palette: I refuse to choose

Okay, so I have way too many favourites when it comes to eyeshadows and eyeshadow palettes! So I’m going to list my top 3 palettes that I use almost everyday on circulation:

  • Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette
  • Tartelette Palette
  • Lorac Pro Palette

I am a matte gal so you’ll notice that all 3 palettes are 80% matte, 20% shimmers. I LOVE using a matte eyeshadow for every occasion – weddings, work, school, birthdays! If I’m feeling extra, I’ll add a touch of shimmer on my lids which is always a pretty final touch. I’m also a sucker for warm tones which you’ll also notice in my top 3 – they just compliment the eyes so well and the colours can also be used for a natural everyday look or glammed up for drama, drama, drama!

Mascara: Benefit They’re Real Tinted Eyelash Primer & Benefit Roller Lash

If I don’t have eyelash extensions on, trust that I’ll be whacking on a few coats of the Benefit They’re Real Tinted Eyelash Primer, topped with the Benefit Roller Lash. When it comes to lashes, Benefit knows best. The primer coats, tints and defines the lashes so amazingly! I’ve had people ask if I’m wearing falsies whenever I’m using this. I can’t recommend this product enough – buy the travel size and try it out for yourself!

The Benefit Roller Lash mascara is also a favourite lash product of mine. The mascara wand is neat and not chunky – I feel like these types of applicators really coat each individual lash. It’s my favourite mascara to wear on top of the primer or by itself for a subtle look!

Liquid Lipstick/Lip Crayon: ColourPop Ultra Satin/Matte Liquid Lipstick & ColourPop Lippie Stix

Okay so I LOVE ColourPop. I use it everyday and I try and incorporate a different colour every time because they simply have the most amazing shades! I cannot wait to buy more of their lippie products. The Ultra Matte liquid lipsticks have been known to dry out the lip however with good exfoliation and a hydrating lip mask before application, the matte stays put without drying out the lips. The Ultra Satins are incredible even though they transfer. That isn’t such a huge deal for me because after a little transferring, my lips are stained that same colour.

The ColourPop Lippie Stix are extremely creamy, buttery and glides on the lips like a dream! The range of colours will make your jaw drop and you’ll definitely want to collect them all! I sure do.

There you have it! My ULTIMATE holy grail products! What are some of yours?! I’d love to know about them.
