March Favourites

I’m back! I’ve been neglecting my blog to the point of no return but I am back and here to stay. It’s been an insane month for me but now that I look back, doesn’t really look like I actually did anything…

Anyways, for the month of March, I have a few favourites to talk about – from beauty to hair, and TV shows to podcasts! Let’s dive right in.

TV Shows

13 Reasons Why

I want to start with TV shows because I have been obsessed! I should wait till my April favourites to write about this but technically, it started on the 31st of March. This new show that released has me completely entwined and infatuated you guys! I honestly cannot stop watching it and I’m really sad that I’ve literally got 1 more episode to watch and no second season. The show I’m talking about is the much anticipated Netflix Original show called ’13 Reasons Why’. Holy *beep beep beeeeeep*. Watch it. Watch it right now and you won’t be disappointed! The show is an adaptation of the book with the same name written by Jay Asher – for anyone who’s interested!

This other show that has me completely addicted is ‘Imposters’, a show you can catch on Stan. It’s basically a con-artist show that is a great balance between drama, romance and comedy. I love going into a show with absolutely no clue what it’s about and finding myself falling head over heels in love with the protagonist – who is stunning by the way. I won’t say any more than I already have except that if you’re into crime and love, this is a show for you!

Tiger Belly

I’ll only be talking about 1 podcast today, however, you can read my February Favourites for other ones I still listen to! If you know about Korean-American comedian, Bobby Lee, then you’ll know about his hilarious and at often times heart-wrenching podcast called Tiger Belly. I discovered Bobby Lee when I was going through Joey Diaz’s podcast ‘The Church of What’s Happening Now’, where he talks about his traumatic childhood and sobriety. Bobby Lee’s podcast with his girlfriend of almost 2 years, Khalyla and sound engineer, Gilbert. The weekly podcast brings me an hour of laughter – so much laughter that I look like a crazy person on the train home from work. Be warned that this is not a podcast for easily sensitive people or those who get offended easily.

Hair Favourites

Batiste Dry Shampoo

Over the past week, I was sent a generous package from Social Soup – a box filled with Batiste dry shampoo products. No kidding, there was probably 10 travel sized cans and 4 big cans. I’ve tried Batiste before, years ago and it didn’t work the way I thought it would. However, since using it again, I’ve gotten away with 3 days unwashed hair and not look like a grease monkey. It’s incredible. From smell to quality, I don’t know what I’ve been doing with my life.

My skin and hair overall sits in the oily category and growing up, I hate the feeling of oily skin and oily hair. I felt as though people could see it clearly on my face and head so I washed my hair every single day – we all know how horrible this is. So honestly, Batiste has really helped me with my issue of oily roots. I apply it at night time and make sure to brush it out so the oils absorb properly overnight. In the morning, it feels like I have freshly washed hair and it smells amazing too.

Make Up Favourites

Rimmel Brow This Way Gel

So when it comes to make up, the less I have to put on, the better (for myself when I get ready every morning). So when I received the new and improved Rimmel Brow This Way Brow styling gel, I thought to myself ‘I really don’t need this’. Boy was I wrong. To fill in my brows, I use powder instead of pomade so my hairs can choose to go in whichever direction they choose. I have no control over them. However, this product has given me some power! The new formulation includes Argan Oil which helps to condition and visibly improve the condition of the brows as well as keep them in place. I love the precise applicator – it’s similar to a very mini mascara wand. It’s also lightweight and long wearing. Score! Try it out guys – I highly recommend it.

Anastasia Beverly Hills x Nicole Guerrero Glow Kit

So this happened.

If you’re a beauty lover, you know exactly what I’m talking about and how major this release is. I have been a huge follower of Nicole Guerrero way back when and I’m so happy for her that she has created this magical highlighter palette that seriously blinds. Sephora Australia released these babies in store last week and I had to get my hands on them ASAP – we know how long it takes Sephora Australia to restock popular items right? As soon as I swatched the very first colour – Kitty Kat – I fell in love. Madly and deeply in love. Say no more – you can clearly see for yourself in the swatches.
