My 40 Minute Morning Routine – Make Up & All!

As someone who prioritises their sleep before anything else in the morning, I have learnt to perfect the speed of getting ready in the morning. So I’m going to give you my less than almost 40-min morning routine that includes a shower, make up, hair and clothes!

6:20am My alarm rings and I shuffle around in bed trying to hear if anyone has already beat me to the shower (either brother or sister in law).

6:30am I hit the showers and brush my teeth. I HAVE to shower every morning otherwise I feel icky! I don’t wash my hair and it’s just all on the body and face.

6:40am I turn on some music (The Weeknd’s Staryboy album is my ultimate go to at the moment) and moisturise with my Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion. I also moisturise my face with Clinique Moisturising Gel and while I wait for that to set, I put on my clothes – picked out the night before.

6:50am I sit at my vanity table and start doing my make up! I use my L’oreal Infallible with an oval dense brush (this makes applying foundation so much quicker than a sponge). I use any brown eye shadow I can find and do my eyebrows with an angled brush. I use the same shade or lighter to apply eye shadow to my lids just for a little wash of colour (usually from my Tartiest palette). I then draw a winged liner with the Tarte pro gel liner and an angled brush then finish off with a coat of mascara. On days where I have more time, I’ll contour, apply blush and highlighter as well (this takes 5 mins tops).

7:10am I throw my hair up in a bun or ponytail, spritz some perfume and I go downstairs ready to munch down something real quick for breakfast.

7:15-7:30am We’re out the door!

Not everyday is the same but this is pretty much the gist of it – there are days where I really can’t get out of bed and purposely wait to be last in the shower (I get an extra 10-15 minutes of sleep) but then I really have to rush. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?!
